I'm a Mormon.

Hey Internet,

So as many of you know, I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I'm a Mormon. I have one mom, and we don't live in Utah. ;)

Recently, our church has been doing these ads on the Church website depicting what "Mormons" are really like.

We're your neighbors, teachers, friends, co-workers and relatives.

I decided I would take the plunge and do my little plug too.

If you know anything about me, or other members of my faith**, I hope you know that we believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the gospel was restored through a prophet, Joseph Smith and we have a prophet that leads and guides us today, Thomas S. Monson. We believe that we are literally children of God. We lived as spirits with our Heavenly Father before we were born. Heavenly Father knows us, loves us and has a plan for us. Heavenly Father sent us to Earth to live in families, to make choices and to show how obedient we would be to Him. We believe that this life is not the end, that through the priesthood and sacred temple ordinances that families can be together forever.

I'm Krystal Duval. I'm a student, a sister, an amateur photographer, a reader, a kindergarten aide, a daughter, a flip flop wearer, organizer, blogger, Alaskan and I am a Mormon.

What would yours say?

**PS. If you have any questions about what I believe, you can click on the gray words about and be transferred to the church website, or feel free to ask me!

Why I go to work...

Hey Internet,

So, this happened today at school, made me choke up a bit and was kinda precious, hence why I'm sharing it with you.

I was sitting in Kindergarten today, helping a student with an art project when all of a sudden, another girl (you maybe remember her playing blocks with the Albanian student) runs up to me throws her arms around my neck and says:

"Teacher Krystal, you're my favorite teacher!"

Awwww!

I heart my job!

Ode to the Franklin Covey

Oh Hey Internet,

Not that you care... but I feel like I deserve some mad props, and since this is my blog, I'm ok with tooting my horn for a second.

So, I bought this bad boy in Anchorage a few weeks ago and I have been organizing my life like a champ!

Thanks Weekly Planner for making my life so organized and being so darn cute!

Because I Care....

Oh Hey Internet,

Just thought I would pass on a bit of wisdom...

When it comes to Facebook....

Just because you TAKE a picture, doesn't mean you HAVE to post it on facebook.

Not all pictures are created equally.
Thank goodness for the miracle of digital cameras if a pic is blurry, just delete it. If you look bogus, delete it. If you cut someone's head off, photoshop it or delete it. If you take a picture of me and I look RIDICULOUS, please delete it.

But please.

Whatever you do....

DO NOT post it on facebook for the world to see! :)

You are welcome.

Just Bend the Pieces til They Fit....

Hi Internet,

I've never liked doing puzzles. I'm too immediate gratification for that. Why would I spend hours putting a picture together, when really I just want to see the picture? I get frustrated. I see the corners. I see the box and what the puzzle is supposed to look like, but I can't seem to wait long enough to put it all together. And then it always seems like there is a piece that just doesn't seem to have a home. Like no matter how you twist or turn it. It doesn't belong anywhere. Don't get me wrong, it's a lovely piece, it looks like it belongs, but you just can't make it fit...

I feel like that piece. I don't really have my spot anymore. I wish I fit, but I feel like I'm squeezing into a spot that's not for me.

I guess it's interesting, my whole life I've tried to put up this front that I'm always go, go, go and do, do, do.

But, the interesting thing is that if you REALLY know me... I'm pretty mellow.

I've been surprised how many people know OF me, but how few actually KNOW me.

I think people assume that I'm especially busy all the time. That I probably already have plans. I guess I should make some to make that assumption true. Haha

In short. I'm not quite sure where I belong. I wish there was an easy answer. A perfect fit. But, I'm afraid I'll probably have to hang out in the place that doesn't feel quite like home.

The Secret to an AMAZING weekend

Hey Internet,

So, I apologize for my sporadic posting recently. I blame school and kindergarten and well, my laziness. I'll try to be better. But, I had a pretty fantastic weekend and I took pictures to document.

So, may I present you with My Secrets to an AMAZING Weekend:

1. Discover that Baby Changing Tables have instructions on them...
in Braille!

How does that even work? Like seriously! Does the woman feel the changing table, while holding baby, plop infant on the table and stick her hand in the diaper to decide the contents?? I laughed a solid 5 minutes in the bathroom at Arby's trying to figure out how it would all go down! Haha!

2. Spend the day with these cuties telling you how great you are, and wearing their matching pajamas that you bought them just because they may or may not have ruffles on the bottoms.

I'm telling you, I'll make some lucky kids an incredible Aunt one day!

3. Unobstructed view of Mt. McKinley for 6 hours.

GORGEOUS!

And probably the most beautiful fall days I've enjoyed in a long time to boot.

So, there you have it. My formula for a perfect weekend! But, you don't have to take my word for it!

I've Changed My Mind

Hi Internet,

I just thought you would like to know that I have changed my mind. When I grow up, I don't want to be a teacher. Pish Posh.

When I grow up, I want to sell textbooks for ridiculous amounts of money to poor college kids and be filthy rich! Buwahahahahahaha! (Evil Laugh)

NOT.

Just thought you'd like to know I bought my books and I'm going to have to sell a kidney to pay for them. Any takers???
