A Place between Heaven and Earth

Hi Internet.

So, today I spend a large part of my day in the Hospital with Grandma. She's not doing so hot, but seems to be doing better.

While we were sitting in her room we heard Brahms Lullaby playing over the loudspeaker. It seemed weird, I mean it was like 9:10, so it wasn't on the hour, and it was after visiting hours were over. My Aunt, Grandma and I just thought it must have been some cell phone or "hospital-wide Bed Time."

However, while I was pacing the hallways a little later (Yes, I pace when I talk on the phone.) I saw a sign that explained that every time a baby is born in the hospital they play Brahms Lullaby over the loudspeaker to announce the baby's arrival. Cool Huh?

That got me to thinking about what I cool place hospitals are. I mean, granted there are smells, and blood, but also hospitals are often quiet and peaceful. A perfect place for Spirits that are leaving and coming to Earth. Like "Heaven's Customs." Makes hospitals less scary to me.

Well, I'm off to get some sleep.

Should I Stay or Should I Go?

Internet.

I'm Homesick.

Main Entry: home·sick
Pronunciation: \ˈhōm-ˌsik\
Function: adjective
Date: 1756
:
longing for home and family while absent from them

Don't get me wrong. Remember how I was SO ready to leave? And how I'm having a great time here in Oregon, going to the coast, having major breakthroughs, and playing with family? Cause I SO am.

But, I miss real life. I miss my own bed. I miss my red pajamas. I miss Institute Classes. I miss Relief Society. I miss my Parents and little brothers. I miss my friends. And while I recognize it's probably not true, I feel like life in the 907 is going right along without me, like no one noticed my 7 week absence. (I know this probably isn't true.)

I'm glad I'm here. I just wish life could be a little more normal. But enough of this "Boobin!'" Here are the:

10 things I love about Roseburg

10. Movie theater in walking distance.

9. I'm on a first name basis with my Grandma's nurses, great ladies.

8. Faster NetFlix shipping

7. Happy Hour at Sonic

6. The Walking trails at Stewart Park

5. Pier 1

4. Actual fresh produce

3. The Coast!

2. No Snow! Just Rain

1. Extended Family- Including getting to spend time with my Grandma while she's sick.

Ok. I can do this. Feel free to come visit! Allegiant Air has AWESOME deals to Eugene/Medford!

Yes I know Heavenly Father Loves me!

Greetings Internet, from drizzly Oregon!

I've been so in awe the past 6 weeks here in Oregon of how beautiful the world is around me. It's been nice to enjoy an actual spring! The daffodils and tulips are blooming, all the trees are blossoming, and yesterday I even walked barefoot on green grass for the first time since August! Which reminded me of a song from when I was in primary:

Whenever I hear the song of a bird

Or look at the blue, blue sky,

Whenever I feel the rain on my face

Or the wind as it rushes by,

Whenever I touch a velvet rose

Or walk by our lilac tree,

I’m glad that I live in this beautiful world

Heav’nly Father created for me.

He gave me my eyes that I might see

The color of butterfly wings.

He gave me my ears that I might hear

The magical sound of things.

He gave me my life, my mind, my heart:

I thank him rev’rently

For all his creations,

of which I’m a part.

Yes, I know Heav’nly Father loves me.

I know that God loves me. I know he knows my name. I know that God has a plan for me. He sent me to Earth, to enjoy this beautiful world and to live with a family. I know that I can live with God again.

You were maybe wondering....

Internet,

Remember how I went on "vacation"? Well, I am still on "vacay." Taking care of Grandma. Living it up in Oregon. (Side note: it's kinda funny when people ask if I'm relaxing, cause I'm SOOO not. I'm busy, but having fun. But I am NOT lounging at a spa. Haha)But, I'm almost ready to come home. I've learned some interesting things about myself over the past 6 weeks. I can honestly say for the first time, in a long time, I feel HAPPY! And that feels great.

SO, to you in the 907, I AM coming back, contrary to rumors. ;) I just don't know when.

BUT, I'm Happy!

Later.

"We Could Live Beside the Ocean"

Well Internet,

As promised, here are the long awaited pictures from my trip to the Coast! It was MAGICAL! We spent the day in Bandon, Oregon and I am ready to move there! I think my sister said it best when she said that "Nothing bad could happen in Bandon!" I completely Agree! It's a cute little town about 60 miles from where I'm staying. It has old town charm and stunning scenery. Imagine if San Fran and Cape Cod had a baby. Haha

First thing we did when we got to town was find a place to stay. We went to several hotels and saw several beach front rooms, so I took a few photos for you to enjoy:

But then we settled on THE place to stay in Bandon! The Puffin Suite At the Table Rock Motel! The woman at the desk is ADORABLE! And super sweet. (She did all the decorating, and made sure to tell us that the house had a "Two Car Garah"...Say it with an Asian accent. haha)

1. The Puffin! Did you see the "Two Car Garah?" Haha 2. Some of the Art Work in the dining area...
3. The view from our deck 4. One of the Beds 5. The dresser in our room= LOVE!
6. The "Princess Bed" 7. Aunt Jessie not wanting to leave our Precious Puffin!

The Next morning we hit the beach. Ahhh, this Alaska girl needs to live closer to the beach. Stunning is the only word to describe this place!

And last but not least, we hit up old town. Loved the shops and the food. Here are my 3 faves.

A. Great Pizza, I recommend the Garlic Chicken. B. Super Seafood, and I'm not a fishy girl, so this is good. C. Great treats and an AMAZING mirror! It's worth a trip just to check yourself out in said mirror.

And there you have it! My Trip to Bandon!

We sure enjoyed it! Can't wait to go back!
